Teaching Subject Qualification Questionnaire

We are pleased you are interested in registering for our application process. Before entering your personal details, we need to collect some information about the subject or subjects you may be eligible to teach.

Should you join the programme, Teach First will allocate you to one subject in which you will teach at least 50% of your timetable. This is the subject in which you will qualify for QTS. You are eligible to teach certain subjects based on your previous academic history.

We divide our subjects into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths), Shortage (English, Religious Education, Music and Modern Foreign Languages and Primary) and Non-Shortage areas (History, Art, Geography, Business Studies and Politics). The majority of our teachers teach a STEM or Shortage subject and we have very limited spaces for Non-Shortage and therefore allocate subjects based on our greatest need.

We first look to see if a potential participant is qualified to teach a STEM subject, then a Shortage and lastly a Non-Shortage subject in order to meet the needs of the schools we work with.

Please note you may be asked to teach a second subject at the school’s discretion.

We would like to hear which of our subjects you are eligible for and would like to teach by answering the following questions.

If you are unable to answer one of the following questions please call us on +44 (0) 121 210 5319 to talk through your situation.
